Knit whatever
"Kimono Shawl"
There are projects waiting for me to finish, but they can wait. I just want to knit whatever I feel like these days. I'll knit anything that entertains me, if it looks exciting, I'm casting on for it. Guilty for neglecting the WIP's? Nah! It's my hobby, just want to have fun, that's all.
I'm preoccupied with a bunch of things that I ordered online that came in the mail last week, more yarns and more patterns. I started "Kimono Shawl" from Folk Shawls using some Zephyr I bought. That's one repeat so far in the photo above. It's a pleasure to knit this using my ebony straights. They're pointy enough for the decreases. A lot of you know how frustrating it can be when using needles that are just too blunt for lace.

Another distraction is this, the "Trellis Scarf" in the current issue of Interweave Knits. I'm using the called for yarn, Knit Picks' Alpaca Cloud in "smoke". Ms. Clark consistently comes up with pretty, pretty lace patterns.

Lovely color and lovely progress. You take good pictures! Can't wait to see more of the kimono shawl.
By the way, you can check out this place for out of print/stock IK mag. However, they did not have the Summer 200 issue either.
Love the Orenburg lace shawl (what I can see of it in the picture). Worth the price.
I'm also knitting the kimono shawl in zephyr ladyslipper pink too. Oooooh that orenburg lace one from 2000 IK is gorgeous! Thanks for introducing me to it!
Hi Carin
I'm knitting the IK Trellis scarf at the moment as well - it is so pretty and I love the colour you've gone for, mine is pale blue Rowan Kid Silk Haze which is working out pretty well.
Hope it turns out well - the knit 7 into 5 is certainly challenging - let me know if you work out an easy way to do it!

Hi, I have also fallen in love with this shawl and just recently I've also managed to purchase a copy on Ebay! :) So everything is peachy, except that I want to order yarn now, including yarn for this shawl, but I have no clue what the yarn requirements are and my copy will take a couple of weeks to arrive (and my yarn, too). Could you help an impatient knitter out and provide her with information about yarn requirements and dimensions of the shawl, please? :) I would be eternally thankful! :)
