First Post

It was in the winter of 2000 when I decided to learn to knit. I wanted to make a scarf for Paul, who is my husband now. I had no idea where to purchase yarn, and then one day, while visiting Paul's sister in Connecticut, I went inside a JoAnn's Fabrics. I was so delighted when I saw yarn and immediately picked out 2 balls of some Lion's Brand worsted weight 75% acrylic/25% wool yarn, a pair of Susan Bates US7 aluminum straights, and a how-to book. I was new to knitting at the time so using acrylic didn't bother me. The next day, I was back in New York, reading the how-to book and attempted to cast on, knit and purl. After that, I knew I've just became totally obsessed. Sadly, the acrylic yarn never made it into a scarf, because I soon discovered many fabulous local yarn shops in Manhattan and became fascinated with natural fibers and bamboo needles. But eventually, Paul did get a merino wool scarf from me. For a few years, I made small things like scarves and socks. It was not until this year that I became more serious and decided to make sweaters. I mean, I can't call myself a knitter if I've never done a sweater, right? After all these years, I still enjoy knitting very much.

I dedicate this blog to my husband, who loves me always.
