"Friday Harbor" Socks

"Friday Harbor" socks from KOTR in Koigu
I love this pattern! I've never had this much fun with sock knitting before. I'm almost up to the heel now. This is the front here, and the back is ribbing. Can't wait to make another design in this book. I've been distracted with all this sock knitting that I've been neglecting my other projects, like my Jaeger sweater...

I'll get back to it soon.

Today's day two of the transit strike here in NYC. Paul drove as close as he can to the 59th St. bridge and walked an hour to the office. Hope this will be over soon.

More Sock Yarn

I'm becoming a hoard for sock yarn. Well, it's not much really, it's nothing compared to some other people. I keep telling myself that, but really, no more shopping until I make more things from the stash.

Here are the recently acquired:

My favorite, "merlot" sock yarn handpainted by the talented Felicia over at sweetgeorgia.

I bought some Patons Kroy Socks 4-ply, some Koigu in #1128, it's a pretty brownish mulberry shade, Regia Jubilee "taiga" 5467, I wanted to get the "india" colorway, but they are no where to be found at the moment, grrr... And a book! Knitting on the Road by Nancy Bush. There are really pretty sock patterns in here, I like almost all of the designs.

"Deli"

This is "Deli" from Rowan Classic Cafe and it's what I've been working on lately. All the pieces are being blocked while I knit the edging. The Rowan Cashcotton DK is a nice yarn to knit with, great stitch definition and very soft.

Hmm, what should I make next?

Koigu Socks

I'm like the last person to knit with Koigu. After seeing others who've made beautiful socks with it, I wanted to try it out. Now I know why so many people love it. It's a great sock yarn, so soft, and comes in so many colors, solids and stripes.

Besides being addicted to yarn, I'm also a makeup junkie. Just went shopping.

And look, I made a hat.
