Icarus in Mohair

I started a new lace project. This is the Icarus Shawl from the current Interweave Knits. This Kid Seta yarn is a pleasure to knit. I really like how it knits up. This mohair stuff is wonderful, it's such a gorgeous yarn. So soft and knits into a puffy and warm fabric.

I couldn't take my hands off of it, I've been working on it every evening until I'm very sleepy and can't knit anymore. I'm about to start the fourth repeat now, it's growing very fast. I'm right in the middle of the tedious portion and I'm not bored. I guess a really nice yarn like this makes all the difference.

This is my first time knitting a triangular shawl. Pretty cool. I hope I will be experience enough for the Peacock Feathers Shawl after this.

I'm excited about my new mohair addiction. I went to Brooklyn General last weekend and bought three balls of Rowan Kid Silk Spray in "pebbles". It's a gorgeous yarn. I haven't decided on a pattern for it yet. Maybe Birch?

It's been so hot these days here in New York, over a hundred degrees, it's best to just stick to knitting lace even with air conditioning.
